Water Bottles...oh my!

Brandon and I have a ton of fun together. We have a lot in common and get along really well. But…yes, but…there are a few differences that drive me a bit crazy (but only in a ‘he’s an amazing boyfriend’ kind of way!) Anyway, I’m sure I’ll have plenty to call him out on in the future but this blog revolves around one that comes up quite frequently with us. He will admit that he's a 'messy' person overall (we won't even talk about his closets just yet!)

Brandon only partially finishes most drinks in a bottle that he opens up. This includes all drinks in a bottle, such as water, energy drinks, Powerade/Gatorade, soda, etc.  He rarely drinks anything but water, so water bottles are the biggest culprit. Brandon doesn’t just not finish them; he also leaves them out DAILY wherever he may be….my house, his house, the car. So, at any given time, you can pretty much guarantee to find 4-6 water bottles in his car and/or house…anywhere from a third to a half full…sometimes a few more than that. See picture below from one Saturday morning, I thought it was time for a little clean-up…and a pic. Not only is this a total waste, it’s also very against my anal nature of having ‘junk’ picked up. I have turned into a bit of a clean freak for stuff like that (although this doesn’t include paperwork and mail…that gets piled up more than I like to admit!)

He does like to defend himself by saying that most of the time, the water bottles have been refilled and reused multiple times so he’s actually not wasting ‘good’ water. But whatever, that still doesn’t support his actions of rarely throwing them away! We gotta get this under control!

All of these laying around his house from his room, bathroom and living room...doesn't include the passenger/backseat of his car where there is always a ton more!! But, I dig him...so we'll slowly work on it! :)

14 Days of Valentines!

I always struggle with gifts because I want them to be 'perfect' and I let myself stress over it (I know, imagine that...) This year, Lisa shared a blog post with me that she found online that was the 'perfect' idea! The blog gave specific ideas and even free printable tags to just print and use! I wanted to make it a little more personalized with some of Brandon's favorite things so I had to enlist help from my creative friends (shout out to Mica and Amber!) for 'quotes' for a couple of the items.

I don't see Brandon everyday, so I've had to get his roommate Dana to help me out, but so far he hasn't traveled much so it's been fairly easy to get a gift to him daily. Fortunately for me, Brandon LOVES to snack...he loves junky type food/candy/snacky stuff so that made it easy! I threw in a few 'bigger' gifts to make it worth a little something but it has been fun and he has LOVED getting a daily gift. It was such a fun and easy idea that I highly recommend!

Stay tuned for the daily gift posts!

Holy Year-end...

And if I thought year-end couldn't get any worse than last year being iced/snowed in for the entire week with rolloing blackouts, the city turning making JCP completely shut-down the entire network and me on my own for the first time with Stores...I was wrong.

I started to do a 'day in the life of year-end' with this being my first pic on Sunday morning as I worked from 8am to 9pm that evening...this is what kept me going. Unfortunately, this is the only pic i took.

Both years were tough in their own way, but this year was BRUTAL. I survived...I always do...but I thank God, year-end only comes once a year. Otherwise, I'd be one big non-sleeping stressball...and NO FUN KELLIE. I worked through the night one night last week, signed off about 2:30am, got to bed about 3ish, laid there for a bit trying to decompress and back up at 5 to start the 'next' day. Whew! It was no fun...but this weekend was completely rejuvenating! Brandon and I made no real plans. I slept in on Saturday morning, went to the gym and then pretty much laid around all day long...we made homemade pizza for dinner, watched a movie and crashed early. It was awesome and well needed rest. So...with my 'excuses' put out there, back on track for blogging...
